Quality ManagerHouston, Texas, US
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production, consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals.
1.0 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigates and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Responsible for all matters related to ISO-9001 and API Q1 accreditation as the Management Representative, including responsibility for the procedures, work instructions, internal audits, corrective actions, management reviews and other elements of the Quality Management System.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality objectives.
- Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Able to problem solve and handle any quality issues in an efficient manner. Develop corrective actions to prevent the reoccurrence of quality issues.
- Manage NCR process by recording and tracking documentation of NCRs.
- Provide necessary training and performance evaluations of subordinates on an annual basis.
- Maintain ISO-9001 and API Q1 quality system at Houston, TX manufacturing facility
- Develop and conduct vendor audits and surveys as required
- Work with manufacturing quality group as required to ensure proper transfer of documentation to customers
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Support and/or participate in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Programs
- Proactively participates in AFGlobal’s Safety Program
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledgeable with the use of SPC, FMEA, and APQP and has experience in obtaining / maintaining ISO 9001 and API Q1 certification
- Knowledge of TS 16949 is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Quality System processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of materials, specifications and tolerances.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Preferably a certified quality auditor
- Working knowledge of API specifications : API 6A, API 16A, API 16RCD, and API 20E/F
- Team oriented and the ability to operate with a diverse group
Education and Experience
- 4-year degree is preferred
- 5 years of Quality Management experience
- ASQ Certification required
- Extensive experience working as a quality manager at an API Q1 accredited facility
- Track record of successful implementation of quality systems and procedures
- Previous experience working with third parties such as ABS and DNV
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
