Subsea Pipelines

Taper-Lok Connectors with a male/female self-aligning flange configuration installs up to 75% faster and easier than ANSI or API flanges.  CNOOC PL 19-3 Phase II project was installed 20 days early and saved the client $3 million due to the ease of installation.  Taper-Lok swivel and weld neck flanges can come with a spherical nose configuration on the male flange which allows for 2-3 degrees of misalignment.

Subsea Risers

Taper-Lok and CofferLok Compact Engineered Connectors are able to handle high fatigue and high bending moments.  We can optimize the design of the connector as needed to meet project requirements.  The design usually has less weight and a smaller outside diameter than ANSI or API flanges. In addition, our connectors typically use smaller bolt sizes and less bolts that allow for easier handling and quicker make up times.  Even faster make-up times can be realized when using our Taper-Lok spherical nose feature that allows for 2-3 degrees of misalignment.  Applications include pipelines, flowlines, risers, spools, tapered stress joints and flex joints.  Weld neck and swivel flange configurations are available.

Ball Misalignment Flange

Taper-Lok MAF Connectors (Ball Misalignment Flange).  The standard misalignment assembly (shown) allows up to 10-degrees of both axial and angular misalignment of piping. When 10-degrees of misalignment is not enough, then this assembly can be modified to include a second ball joint that would allow for up to 20-degrees of misalignment of piping.  This product is typically used in subsea applications between the flowline and riser piping or for subsea pipeline repair.

Swivel Flange Misalignment Capability

The Taper-Lok Swivel Flange design with a spherical nose offers up to 3 degrees of misalignment and can stay in the misaligned configuration while in service.  During assembly, if the bolts can be installed through the bolt holes, the connector can be made-up.  The picture shown is a Taper-Lok swivel flange that has been in subsea service for over 10 years in the misaligned configuration.
